Shawn Menashe Co-Chairs 2017 Classic Wines Auction & Albert Menashe Awarded Annual Rombauer Service

This month, Managing Shareholder Shawn Menashe co-chaired the 35th annual Classic Wines Auction, which raised a record $3.5 million for five local nonprofits. The event was held at Oregon Convention Center on March 4. Portland Business Journal reports “more than 850 people lifted their glasses in a collective toast that raised a record $3.5 million that will benefit five local nonprofits." Net proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Metropolitan Family Service, YWCA Clark County, Friends of the Children, New Avenues for Youth and Unity Center for Behavioral Health.

Additionally, Co-Founder and Shareholder, Albert A. Menashe, was awarded the Classic Wines Auction Koerner Rombauer Award for Service. The award was created in 2007 and is presented annually to recognize individuals, like Koerner Rombauer who have consistently served, funded, and supported the Classic Wines Auction and its benefiting charities. “In our 33rd year, we recognize an individual with the Koerner Rombauer Award for his collaborative and consistent support of the Classic Wines Auction: Albert Menashe.”  Albert served as the Classic Wines Auction chair in 1996, and proudly supported his son, Shawn, as the current co-chair for the 2017 auction.

Since inception in 1982, the Classic Wines Auction has raised nearly $45 million for our local Portland community.
