Craig M. Cowley

Associate Washington and Oregon

Craig practices in the trial courts of Oregon and Washington, and argues cases on appeal. The happiest part of Craig's work is helping people out of trouble, or, even better, helping them stay out of trouble before it happens.

Whether it is a matter of divorce or adoption, domestic violence or child support, what a person does now will affect, for better or worse, later relationships with his or her ex-spouse and children; and will affect the resources with which each person is able to transition with dignity into the next chapter of his or her life.

More and more people would prefer to craft their own reasonable solution to the problem at hand. This can happen early, as with a good pre-nuptial agreement, or later, even in the midst of argument. One way or another, people with a family law dispute are generally served better by creative problem-solving than by arguing over things, things which may too easily be consumed in the heat of the argument itself.

The aim is to resolve disputes, whether the issue is access to your children or to your share of the property. It is essential to identify and seek an appropriate outcome for everybody, because in the final analysis either everybody wins or nobody does.

Craig enjoys playing competitive games of strategy as part of his free time with family and friends.
